Life can be so cruel, but only if we let it, you must understand... It's a choice!
My dear friends Derek and Jill McClain are going through something terrible right now. Our friend Jill has been told she is going to die. Soon. Can you just imagine for a second what they must feel like? To be told you have 12 months left to live? What would go through your brain? Your kids? Your spouse? Your parents and family? Your regrets? Your hopes? Your dreams? How would it change your day to day? What would become a priority and what would go to the way side? Now imagine all of those thoughts running through your head, and then also having to worry about finances because you can't go to work in between constant treatments, and surgeries, and searching desperately for a cure...

Just imagine yourself in their shoes.

Would you hide in a corner? Curl up in a fetal position? Blame God? I don't know the answer to that personally, but here's what I do know. The McClains have chosen to live out these day with hope. Derek has chosen to continue to motivate people through social media, to Rise every day with purpose, to throw on those running shoes and put in the miles. Jill has chosen to use her burden to help others continue to Evolve into better people, to learn to grow daily and appreciate the gift of life.

They have made decisions that will have a massive impact on this planet, and I believe after all they've done for me and you, it's time for us to support them.

#RiseandGrind has created a shirt for us all to wear across the country in support. Every dollar spent on these T-shirts will go directly to the McClains. #RiseandGrind will be donating the amount necessary to cover the cost of the shirts. Buy one, buy ten, buy a hundred. Whatever your heart tells you, and then wear it proudly and take a picture showing your support. When you post your picture make sure to include a link to the McClain's GoFundMe page so we can get them as much help as possible. Both with dollars and prayers.

THEN I need you to pray. Pray for recovery, pray for understanding, pray for their two small children, pray and let's see if God is interested in creating a miracle. I believe our God can do all things. I also believe that he has a plan with these two beautiful people, and though we might not understand it, it's not for us to understand. Instead we must trust, have faith, and Pray.

Let's take #RiseandGrind Offline and pour into a family that has been pouring into all of us every day for while now. I truly appreciate it!

Jill's Story

During the 2018 holiday season, Jill McClain, was diagnosed with Stage IV gastric (stomach) cancer. Since that time, she and her husband, along with their two young children have had their world turned upside down. Their normal day-to-day routine of going to school, work, play dates, family events, loving snuggles, and carefree giggles have been replaced with bi-weekly chemotherapy treatments, endless doctor appointments, scans, tests, hospital stays and some days of complete isolation. Although each day brings new obstacles, Jill and her husband Derek have chosen faith to be more powerful than fear, and to look for the positives within each day. They are especially grateful for the tremendous support and caring of their friends and family, who are all working together to fight this terrible disease and develop a new normal.

How You Can Help

With the loss of Jill's income, increasing medical bills and the challenging needs of their of two children, ages 2 and 5, their financial circumstances is cause for high stress. Therefore, I invite you to contribute to lessening that worry by buying a t-shirt and using the donate now button on their GoFundMe page. The set goal will be a significant help in meeting their monthly family living expenses for this next year.
If we can erase some of the burden of these expenses for one year, then we can allow Jill and Derek to focus on creating more family memories, while seeking the best treatment possible. Your generosity will make a tremendous difference to their family.
If you know Jill and Derek, you know they always want to help others and rarely expect anything in return. I am now asking you, who might have been touched by their story, to please lift them up during this difficult time.
Your generosity is so appreciated and we feel that with this financial goal, we can truly help the McClain family.
